Merry Christmas!!!

Just a quick post to say MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!

Hope you've all enjoyed your day and spent it surrounded by loved ones.

I've had such a nice Christmas this year and loved having my sisters back home too. I currently appear to be in a food coma after the feast that mother prepared (diet starts tomorrow!) and spent the rest of the day doing the tradition family  things, including an afternoon nap- we're just wild!

So glad Christmas jumpers came back in!!

Once again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Empties #1

A little review of some beauty products which I have used up. They weren't all used up during December as that would be crazy fast to get through them all but I've now decided I have collected enough empty items to create a whole blog about them! The products featured are; Korres facewipes, Benefit 'pore fessional' primer, No7 'Soft and Soothed gentle cleanser', No7 'Beautiful Skin Night Cream' and Superdrug's own dry shampoo.

No7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Cleanser
I love No7 products and this did not disappoint! It was the first cleanser I'd ever tried so wasn't too sure what to expect but found that this really helped take off any make-up which had survived through a face-wiping and this then resulted in my overall skin condition improving. I also found it to be very moisturising and just left my face feeling amazing. I now can't go to bed without cleansing and blame this product for that. I would definately recommend this product and can't wait to buy another!

Superdrug's own dry shampoo
When I bought this it was on 'Buy One Get Two Free'. Yes, you read that that...I got three of these cans and only had to pay for one. I now understand why...It was horrible! It didn't seem to hide any grease at all and left my hair looking like it had lots of gunky/gel-like product on it. The smell wasn't overly nice either and I basically couldn't wait til the cans ran out (and it took a while seeing as I had been fooled into buying three). I won't be using this again, even if they paid me! Get me back to my Batiste!!!

No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream
So, after gaining a high respect for No7 brand after falling in love with their cleanser, I decided to give this a go as I felt that often I would wake up with a really dry and tight face (sounds weird but I hope you get what I mean!). At the time this was new out and I managed to get a wee sample of the new 'Beautiful Skin' range. This night cream was extremely nice and moisturised my face without leaving it feeling greasy. The tub cost around £12/£15 and lasted for AGES so was determinately worth the money. I was worried that having product on my face during the night would lead me to break out but again, I thought it improved the overall condition of my skin and I will definitely be re-purchasing this item soon.

Korres Facewipes- Pomegranate (For oily to combo skin)
This is a Greek brand and one that I'd never heard of until my work got them in. In Edinburgh the only places to buy this brand is at my work and in Harvey Nichols. I LOVE these facewipes. I'm not ever sure why as they don't remove all my make-up and struggle with thick mascara but I love how my skin feels after using them. The brand is very organic and all the ingredients in their products are natural so my skin seemed to get a lot healthier and I hold these responsible. I have already bought two more packets and just can't get enough. They cost £7 but right now have 20% off as they're in the top 12 of all Korres products, happy days!!

Benefit 'pore fessional' primer
Again, this was a little sample which I got (can't even remember where or how but found it in my room) and I love it. Benefit is obviously a well known brand so I was excited to try it out. When you apply this product it is like rubbing velvet on your face! It feels so soft! You only need to use a small amount of it at one time so the little tube also seems to last a good wee while considering it's size. I have another benefit primer to try ('that gal') so will see which two I enjoy the best before I go buy one. So far though, this is the best primer I've tried so 'That Gal' has a lot to prove if I'm to choose it over this. It really helped my make-up last all shift and felt like it was a barrier between my skin and the make-up which left my skin looking and feeling fresh, even after a long day!

That's all my empties for now! I'm trying some more new products at the moment which I will review once I've used them all up but hope you enjoyed these ones for now :)

First MAC foundation!

So, I am a MAC foundation virgin but have always wanted to try them and it seems to be a very popular choice within the beauty blog/vlog world. At my work there was a sale which included MAC products so naturally I took the chance to try one out as I could do it without having to pay a lot of money for an item I might not like. So I went for the 'Face and Body Foundation'.

I have to say, I really like the product. It isn't what I expected in the way that it feels really light on your face, almost like a bb cream, but gives more coverage than a bb cream would. The shade I got was N1 and I had bought it without actually seeing the shade in person, I'd only seen a picture on the internet- very risky move and it did end up being a bit lighter than I would've liked but that's what bronzer is for!

The product seems to last all day on my skin and brightens my face up which helps it look healthy and more awake- which would have been a challenge after all the shifts I've been working recently. It also seemed to make my skin feel a lot softer too which is always a good thing.

All in all I really like it, would buy it again (in a darker shade) and would recommend it to anyone else who wants to try a MAC foundation but isn't sure where to start!
