Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet

Now these are not new, in fact I've had mine a wee while but recently there have been 3 new summer colours released which made me realise that I haven't blogged about mine yet! So here are my thoughts on the Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick.

At first application I found it a bit tricky to apply evenly. I have since discovered that if you apply with more product on the applicator it is actually easier. I find this sits on the lips very comfortable and I do forget it's on for the first 5 hours or so but I do start to get a slight drying feeling after that. However, it's still comfortable enough to keep on all day and it really does last. Once this bad boy is on, you'll need an excellent make-up remover to get it off.

I have got the shade '08 Grand Cru' and I think I've finally found my perfect red! It does have a velvety texture when you first apply it but dries to a matte finish. I also found that if you do have dry lips then it can apply patchy but doesn't cling to the dry patch.

All in all I LOVE this product and it's definitely put Bourjois back on my radar. You can find these in Boots for £8.99 so bring on the summer shades!

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush

I bought this a wee while ago but have somehow forgotten about it. However, recently I was mixing up my daily products and came across this. I fell in love all over again and couldn't believe I haven't blogged about this already!

Introducing Max Factor's answer to beautifully luminous cheeks in the form of a Creme Puff Blush. As you can see form the pictures the blusher just looks ridiculously pretty. With a marble affect and a beautiful shimmer through it this is a very close dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush...or so I imagine as I can't afford the hourglass one. Luckily this is only £8.99 (Boots and Superdrug- both of which currently have 3 for 2 on offer so go go go!!)

This comes in a few shades and I got the shade '03 Gorgeous Berries' purely because it looked the prettiest. I even got it without swatching any of them which just shows how aesthetically pleasing it is.

This blusher is very pigmented, so go in with a light hand, and gives such a healthy glow to the skin without flakes of shimmer/glitter showing. It really does just give the face life and I think it makes the perfect summer blush. The thought of this in the sunshine makes me want to go on holiday just to wear it!

Anyone tried the other shades? I love the formulation so much I think I'll be purchasing another soon but can't decide which colour!

Empties #4

I recently noticed that my empties box has gotten so full that I'm now having to seperate them into two different blogs. So, welcome to the make-up side of things. This one has less products in it but somehow I've managed to finish two foundations and two primers within the last month so here's what I thought about them;

L'oreal Paris Revitalift Magic Blue- I got this as it was on offer but have enjoyed using it. It is exactly like the Garnier Blur Primer (blogged about here) and I think roughly the same price so if you like that one and see this one cheaper then grab it as the chances are you won't notice the difference. It's texture is much like the Benefit Porefessional but again this one is much cheaper so a great dupe for it!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer- I got this sample in a Glossybox and was VERY excited to see it as I'd heard a lot of good things about it. I really enjoyed using this. I'm used to primers like the one above so this was very different for me as the texture is more gel-like but I found it very moisturising and definitely helped my make-up to stay in place all day. Would buy this again but maybe in the Oil-free version to keep my summer sweat at bay...gross!

Avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Foundation- I really enjoyed this foundation. The colour matched me perfectly which was surprising as it was off the internet which is always risky! I also really enjoyed the finish this left. It blended in easily and left a very natural and skin-like finish without being too matte OR too oily, which is a miracle with my oily forehead!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation- I got this while I was living in Australia as this brand isn't available in Britain and I am GUTTED it's run out and I didn't bring back more. Again, I really liked this foundation and found it suited my skin perfectly. The colour was slightly darker for me as I mustv'e had a bit of a tan when I bought it but I found if I just applied a thinner layer it just gave me a healthy glow. This lasted well on my skin and again left a very skin-like finish which I really enjoyed!

I don't think I've ever had such a positive empties post but I genuinely really enjoyed all of these products and will most likely repurchase in the future.

Happy Easter!!!

I've had so many compliments on this colour recently and I think it's the perfect Easter/Spring colour!

I absolutely love Easter- not just for the chocolate but for the time with family, the food and the acceptance that spring has sprung and winter is something of the past. Today in Edinburgh it was a beautiful day and was actually hot and sunny!!!?

So really this is just a quick post to say Happy Easter! Hope the Easter bunny visited you all and make sure to brush your teeth extra well after all those chocolate eggs!
