Collection 'Big Fake Ultimate' Mascara

We all know and love Collection for the best concealer ever created in the Lasting Perfecting Concealer. However, I had discovered another one of their ever so affordable products is brilliant and dare I say it a must try. Introducing the Big Fake Ultimate False Lash Effect Mascara (what a mouth full!!).

This is the only mascara I've tried from their collection and I absolutely love it. The only reason I bought it is because I had a voucher where I got it either for free or extremely cheap if I spent a certain amount within the range. So as well as stocking up on the concealer I picked this up and haven't looked back since.

The brush is the biggest I've ever used and things can get a bit messy and I don't even attempt to put it on my botton lashes (even though they still get a bit covered when you're doing the top lashes since the brush is that big!) but I find that it seperates the lashes beautifully, gives an even coat of mascara, is extremely build-able without getting the spider affect and is the most lengthening mascara I've ever used. All this and it's only £4.99 (from Superdrug) so you really can't go wrong. The packaging isn't my favourite but for how great the product is I really don't care!

What other wonders do Collection have up their sleeve?!

Minimum Make-Up Look

We all have those days where we want to be a bit kinder to our skin and let it breath but the thought of leaving the house totally bare faced sends shivers down the spine. This is a fairly regular occurrence for me so I feel like I have finally nailed the minimum make-up look.

My go to products are;

  • BB Cream- I use the Garnier one which is for Oily skin. I really like the lasting power of this bb cream and enjoy how light it feels on my skin. It is a bit dark for me but I just about get away with a 'healthy glow' appearance
  • Concealer- my favourite of all time Collection concealer covers all sins perfectly
  • Mascara- I think we can all agree that mascara goes without saying! (this one has been blogged about here)
  • Blusher- my current favourite blusher. Dandelion from Benefit is gives the perfect flush of natural colour to the cheeks
  • Lipbalm- I love this one from Nivea as not only is it moisturising but gives a really pretty pink shimmery tint to the lips

So that is it. My go to products when I'm giving my skin a bit of a break or when I genuinely only have around 3 minutes to get ready.
Is there any I've missed out?

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Review

Revlon is one of my favourite high street brands for lip products. The first I tried that I feel in love with was their Lip Butters (mentioned in this post). Then I ventured into the Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick (blogged about here) and then discovered their Colorburst Balm Stains (mentioned in this post)! I was a massive fan of the Balms so my excitement levels were extremely high when I heard the release of the new Colorburst Lacquer Balm and Colorburst Matte Balms. Although I'm yet to try out the Lacquer Balm I couldn't stop myself from purchasing one of the Matte Balms.

I needed a new bright red colour and thought that 240 Striking Spectaculaire was beautiful and a perfect addition to my collection. The colour payoff is brilliant and dries to a perfect matte appearance. Although it can be quite drying on the lips it definitely is worth it for how long the colour lasts for and if it gets too dry then I find dabbing on some lip balm sorts it out.

I find the colour to last for around 6 hours with no touch ups but that obviously depends on eating/drinking. This is one of my favourite shades of red on the lips as it's extremely bright and bold with a hint of orange and a blue undertone which leaves the teeth looking whiter and brighter. There are 10 shades in the range and for only £7.99 each (from Boots) I can't wait to try out more!

Above is the colour after a couple of hours and below is a picture of the colour at the end of the day after about 6-7 hours. I didn't touch up at all but I hadn't eaten and only drunk out of a bottle which I think helped it last.

Benefit Sets- Bronze 'N' Dandy

Benefit has fast become one of my favourite make-up brands. From the cute packaging to the amazing products they seem to have everything on point (except maybe the price could be a wee bit cheaper!).

Although it is more expensive than some other beauty brands I would definitely say that a lot of their products are worth it. I have previousy blogged about their amazing primer, great mascara and a bunch of their mini's

A great way to try out a product without having to dive straight in and pay the price without knowing if it would work for you is to pick up a little set of mini's. We all know I love a good mini so when you get four in one it's a happy day for me.

There's many Benefit mini sets out there but the one which was given to me from my sister is this one- the Bronze 'N' Dandy gift set. This features a blush in Dandelion, a bronzer in Hoola and their matching lipglosses.

The bronzer my current favourite bronzer to use for contouring and general warming of the face and I'm about to run out of the one I'm using so was very happy to spot this in here. I've also never tried this blusher before but know it's one of Benefits most popular and I can see why. Although it looks very pale in the packaging it goes on beautifully and gives a really natural flush of colour to the cheeks- a possible new favourite blush!

As for the lipgloss's- they are not the most pigmented in the world, nor do they last a long length of time but they're a great size to through into your bag and go on so smoothly. They give a great shine and I still really enjoy using them.

Sets like these are brilliant for trying out new make-up and I would recommend them if you're unsure if something would work for you or if you're going travelling and the set contains your favourites as it could save a whole lot of room in your case- room for another pair of shoes!?

I've seen these sets being sold in Boots and Debenhams but I'm sure there's plenty of other places to pick one up so now there's no excuse!
