Little Pieces of Joy from Benefit

For some reason I always feel that Benefit gets over looked a lot in the make-up blogging world. Other than their amazing 'They're Real' mascara you don't hear much about it, especially compared to other brands such as MAC and NARS. However, Benefit is definitely a brand which deserves to be spoken about.

I am a massive fan of the product, design and performance of all the items which I've tried. But being a traveller right now with just one backpack means there's little room for an extensive make-up collection...step up the Benefit mini's!

I got quite a few of these this Christmas and have to say I am very impressed by them all. The products are obviously exactly the same as the full sized items but just contained in equally as cute smaller packaging. They are absolutely perfect for throwing in the hangbag when going out or for trying the product before diving in and purchasing the full sized items, which can be quite pricey!

The mini's which are photographed are;
  • the 'ultra plush lipgloss' (which I got in a set- hense so may!).
  • 'boi-ing concealer' in all three shades,
  • 'they're real mascara',
  • 'hello flawless foundation',
  • 'some kind-a gorgeous foundation',
  •  'hoola' bronzer,
  • 'coralista' blusher,
  • 'porefessional primer',
  • 'bene tint' and 'posie tint' lip and cheek stains
  • and also 'high beam' and 'sun beam' highlighters.

Although I have been very impressed with all of the mini's so far (the gloss's smell SO good) below are my favourites out of them all and the ones which I reach for on a daily basis.

The Hello Flawless foundation has literally become one of my favourite foundations ever. I didn't have many expectations for it as I'd never heard much about it but I got my colour matched in store and think it gives a beautiful glowy effect to the skin (similar to the very popular Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation). I would say it's medium coverage but is very build-able and lasts well throughout the day. With SPF 25 it's a must for holidays/summer time.

The some kind-a gorgeous is also a foundation but this is one which I like to carry in my handbag at all times. I use to top up my face throughout the day. It glides on easy and blends brilliantly.

I'd heard a wee bit about the Hoola bronzer so was very excited to try it and was not disappointed. It is the perfect bronzer for contouring and adding a little colour to the whole face if needed. It has no shimmer so is completely matte which helps give the more natural look.

Porefessional  primer is one which I've used before and will definately use again. It makes the skin look and feel so soft and flawless and helps make-up stay on for longer. Benefit is amazing for primers as not only is this one amazing but they also have a 15 hour one which I blogged about here which is also absolutely amazing.

The High Beam highlighter is also a beautiful product which is so easy to use and gives the face a natural glow. Light bounces off this highlighter giving the cheekbones a lovely little lift.

I love Benefit and can't wait to explore more of their collection! Any favourites I should try?

My Australian Adventure...so far!

G'Day!

I am now 3 months into my travels around the other side of the world and I thought it was about time I introduced this blog to my other one! I decided to start another blog which is kept in the style of a diary and also shares some of my photo's of the exciting things I'm getting to do. You can find this blog here: http://diaryofatravelingscot.blogspot.com.au/

Another way to follow my journey is on YouTube! Before leaving for Australia I had the idea of starting up a channel for a way to allow my friends and family back home see what we're getting up to. So, my fellow traveller Kirsty and I have started the channel. It's something which we started to help keep friends and families up to date with our travels but have enjoyed doing it and thought it might also be good for people who are thinking of doing something similar and who may have questions.

We would love as many people as possible to watch our videos and ask any questions which they may have. It's not anything we're taking too seriousy nor is it extremely well edited with high-tech equipment but if you are into YouTube and want to follow our journey then please go over to our channel and subscribe! You can find us here: www.youtube.com/TheLittleLassies

Happy New Year!

A very happy New Year to you all!!

Hope you all had a brilliant New Year and are excited for what the new year has to come.
I've never been one to make new years resolutions as I often think we should be making new goals/challenging ourselves throughout the year.

However, this year I thought I'd give it a go! And starting with posting on here more often. I am aware of how lazy I have been on here recently and I blame myself getting distracted by life. Hopefully having made a post about blogging more often being my resolution will force me to do so! So, brace yourself and be ready to get hit by plenty more nonsense from me.
