Empties #5

I knew it'd been a few months since my last empties post but when I went to look in my box of empty products I was shocked by how much was there so I'll try keep this post as short as possible!

Skincare

  • The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil- my daily go to to get rid of make-up. Wipes are no more- this removes everything including the most water proof mascara. Repurchased!
  • Re-Gen Cream- my favourite face cream ever. Soaks into the skin quickly without leaving any greasy feel and my skin just seems to love it! Repurchased!
  • Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water- absolutely love this, blogged in full here. Repurchased!
  • Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter- smells incredible and leaves the skin so soft!
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Oil- a blog on this will be coming soon so I won't say too much other than- Repurchased!

Other Toiletries
  • MAC Brush Cleanser- I thought I'd already blogged about this as I've been using it for years but I couldn't find one. I use this when I'm dry cleaning my brushes and find it's SO good at cleaning the brushes thoroughly and making them white again. Repurchased!
  • Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel- my favourite smelling product in the whole world. I ran out of this around April time and there was almost tears as it's a Limited Christmas one. Guess I'll just have to wait til November but this will be repurchased for sure!
  • The Body Shop Camomile Eye Make-up Remover- a lovely soft eye make-up remover which caused my sensitive eye area no irritation and removed the make-up fairly well. I would still need to use a bit of the micellar water to get rid of the final traces
  • The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel- I never knew I enjoyed the smell of satsuma's so much until I got this. I am now obsessed! This made my mornings that little bit brighter. It foamed beautifully and didn't dry my skin out at all
  • No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-up Remover- this is oil based and again caused my skin no irritation. I think it was more effective than the Body Shop one at removing every trace of mascara I had on

Make-Up
  • The Body Shop All-In-One InstaBlur Primer- a very velvety primer which reminded me a lot of the Garnier Blur one. I really enjoyed this and found my make-up sat onto really nicely and lasted well throughout the day
  • Naked Lips Superfruits Lip Balm- this smells of sweets and I love it! It's 97% organic and 100% natural. It moisturised my lips really nicely and I just enjoyed using it!
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (Shade 15)- I got a lighter shade and used it under my eyes. It covered my dark circles beautifully and stayed put throughout the day. I would definitely repurchase this in the future
  • Balmi- yet another lip balm I've gone through and yet another one I've really enjoyed. Such cute packaging with a beautiful scent and moisturised the lips really nicely. Would repurchase!
  • Collection Concealer- can't remember the name of it as all markings have rubbed off but this is the VERY popular concealer from Collection which everyone seems to use and love and I do too. Best concealer I've ever used! Repurchased!

And you've made it to the end! Well done you!! Hope you enjoyed reading through all the products which I've recently used up. If you've used any of them too then please feel free to let me know what you thought of them!

Benefit Big Easy BB Cream

This is a VERY heavy swatch but shows how well it builds and evens out the skin tone

I got this way back in November, tried it a few times and threw it to the back of my make-up stash not to be thought of again...until July! When I tried it back in November I used the Real Techniques beauty sponge to apply it and found the product just sat on my skin really badly and was really patchy. I then tried just using my fingers to apply it but found the same thing happened. I was GUTTED as I'd read many a good review on this product and was excited to try it.

So, along comes July, and we've had a few warm-ish days as our 'summer' and although it wasn't quite 'taps aff' weather it was warm enough for me to really not fancy putting foundation on my skin. On days like these I reach for a BB cream but had run out of my Garnier one- blog here- so thought I would try the Benefit one again.

This time I thought I'd try applying it with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and this was a game changer! The product applied beautifully and left an invisible appearance. It has a light to medium coverage but has a very natural finish so it looks like I'm not wearing anything on my skin but just have a lovely glowly and even complexion. It lasts very well throughout the day without turning patchy and even managed to control my oil quite a bit- the most I've ever experienced for a BB cream! I do still need to powder though- story of my life!

All in all, this is a brilliant BB cream AND it's SPF 35 so would be ideal on holidays when you want a relaxed and easy look while protecting your skin. This would also be ideal for any 'no make-up make-up days'. These are available from all Benefit counters and will set you back £28.50 (ouch!) and comes in 6 shades. I have shade '03- Light Medium' and find it's a perfect match.

So lesson to be learnt today...If a product doesn't apply well the first time then don't give up! Simply swap the brush/applicator and you could end up falling in love with it!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

I have been using eye creams for a few years now but have never really been overly excited about any...until now!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream is a beautifully thick eye cream which feels so soft and gentle on the skin and soaks in effortlessly. A little goes a very long way with this product and it gives an instant feeling of moisture- which is very important for keeping wrinkles away! After the first few days I was already noticing a reduction in the puffiness under my eyes and in time the dark circles also started to fade away!

Quite a few of the eye creams which I've used in the past have cause irritation to my eyes so I'm always a bit nervous when using a new one but there was no need for me to worry when it comes to this one as it caused no irritation or stingy eyes so would suit sensitive skin types. I've enjoyed using it so much that I already know I'll be repurchasing this again.

This is £11 and can be found at thebodyshop.co.uk or in their stores.

No7 Stay Perfect Eye Crayon

Whenever I wear this beautiful eye crayon to work one of my work buddies always asks what I'm wearing and why I haven't blogged about it yet so Fiona...this ones for you!

No7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define is my daily go to when I want an easy eye-look with just one colour over the whole lid. This creamy crayon glides onto the eyelid without any pulling, lasts all day and is so beautifully pigmented. I have it in the colour 'Cool Mink' which is a browny/purpley (I really don't know what this colour is called!!) shade with silver shimmer through it which catches the light perfectly. Its a nice subtle shade for during the day and could be smoked up with a deeper purple for a more intense evening look.

It reminds me a lot of the By Terry Ombre Blackstar eyeshadow crayons but without the £29 price tag! for £20 cheaper the No7 versions are available at Boots and honestly are just amazing!

When I first wanted to purchase this it was sold out for ages so if you see one I would definitely pick it up while you can!
