Empties #13

Another month has gone past which means it's time for another empties post! This month's seem to be mostly be hair products or skincare and I have to say, I enjoyed all of them.

Simple Cleansing Lotion and Facial Toner
These were the first cleanser and toner I used and have now been going back to them for years. They are so simple to use and gentle on the skin. If anyone was wanting to introduce a cleanser and toner into their skincare routine then I would definitely recommend these two as a starting point.

Pixi Glow Tonic
I finally got the chance to use the legendary glow tonic from Pixi and I did love it. My skin did seem to brighten while I used this every evening and just generally look a lot healthier. The packaging is so nice and I've already bought a replacement.

Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Body Butter
This was a really nice rich and creamy which was extremely moisturising. I used this at night on my feet and found they were so soft by the morning.

Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo
I have used this for so long now, as many of you will know due to hot often I write about it, and recently recommended this to a colleague of mine. She recently bought some and loved it as well! I'm yet to discover anyone who didn't enjoy this shampoo and think it was better than batiste.

Redken High Rise Volume Shampoo and Beach Envy Volume Conditioner
I got these in a recent haul, which you can watch here, and have just finished them the other day. I really like these and have already bought some more. I did find they made my hair look more volumised and I also could go longer without washing my hair.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I have this in '010 Ivory' and use it under my eyes. It's brilliant for brightening up the area and also concealing those dark circles. It helps me look like I've had 8 hours sleep even when I've had much less.

Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder
Again, I've spoken about my love for this powder and you can read a full review here. It's just so lightweight that it's perfect to take the shine away and never makes your face look cake or blotchy.

So a couple of new products there and some old favourites as well. Let me know what you've used up this month or if you've tried any of the products above.

I have to admit, New Look has one of the best sales just now that I've seen in a while. Often with sales it's all the ugly items left or never in my size so I was very pleasantly surprised when I had a quick look at New Look's sale.

There was a great range of items in the sale and for great discounts. They also such a good variety of sizes so I managed to pick up a few pieces and thought I would share them with you.

Everyday Make-Up #3

I have been using the same products for quite a while now and certain have my routine nailed for during the week when I'm in a rush and need to be in auto-pilot mode.

I therefore thought I would share what works for me every day and last throughout the day. I thought this would be quite a short post but, having now picked out the products, there's a good number of them so sit tight...this could take a while! I'll also link the products to reviews I've posted previously below.

I start by priming my skin with Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm to help keep everything in place all day. To get rid of my purple shadows under my eyes I layer on the concealer so I start with Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer in the lightest shade to initially conceal the deep colour. I then apply my foundation which is currently No7 Beautifully Matte Light in 'Cool Ivory'. I love this foundation as it feels light as a feather on the skin making in comfortable for a full day. Back to my eyes now with Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer which really helps to brighten under my eyes. To make sure it all stays in place I set it with Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder

With the base in place (nice rhyme...) I bring some life back into my face with the Clinique Chubby Contour Stick and Benefit Dandelion Blush. To brighten my face further I will then apply a small amount of YSL Touche Eclat to really waken me up. To finish off my make-up I fill my brows with  MAC Eye Brow Pencil in 'Stud' and set that in place with the  Benefit Ready Set Brow Gel which makes such an amazing difference! All that's left is mascara, Maybelline Waterproof The Falsies Volume, and eyeliner which is  MAC Eye Kohl in 'Teddy'. A sweep of gloss, loving this NYS Butter Gloss in 'Tiramisu' and I'm out the door.

I did not expect there to be so many products! Please tell me I'm not the only one with so many?!

Collection Blush and Glow Palette

Collection is definitely most well known for their amazing concealer which is a favourite amongst most beauty bloggers but I have to admit that I haven't tried many of their other products. I was in Boots yesterday and saw that they had a lot of products on offer and for only £3.99. As if their products aren't cheap enough! However, due to this I was very keen to try out one of their palettes which came out not too long ago and I've been wanting to try it since.

The Blush And Glow palette features a bronzer, highlighter and two blushers- one matte and one shimmery. These shades looked incredible so I was very excited to try them out. Not only are the shades beautiful and very easy to wear but they're extremely pigmented. I was so surprised by the quality of these powders, they truly are amazing! I absolutely love this palette and can see it becoming a daily favourite with all the products in one place. I'm yet to wear them for a full day to see how they last but on first impressions...it's a winner!
