Neal's Yard Haul

Not too long ago my sister became a independent consultant at Neal's Yard. When she told me this I was rather excited as 1. I had someone to talk skincare with and 2. I'd always wanted to try this brand out but didn't know where to start.

She's allowed me to try out a few products at her's and they all felt great on my skin. So when there was a sale on recently I put an order in with her straight away. Here's what I got;

  • Organic Inner Strength Tea - I've already tried this and I'm slightly addicted. I've had one most night's since buying them and think they taste great while doing good on the inside also
  • Award-Winning Skincare Kit - contains 4 miniature versions including the Wild Rose Beauty Balm ( my sister's favourite and the reason I chose this kit rather then the one for oily skin), White Tea Enriching Facial Mask, White Tea Facial Mist and the Beauty Sleep Concentrate. I thought this would be perfect as I'm hopefully going on holiday at the end of next month and using these will save a lot of room in my suitcase
  • Beauty Sleep Organic Collection - any skincare products that work wonders over night or have a fragrance to help you sleep I love so thought I would give this a go. It comes in such a beautiful box that I think it would make such a great gift. It contains 3 full size products; Beauty Sleep Concentrate, Beauty Sleep Body Butter and Beauty Sleep Bah Milk
  • Garden Mint & Bergamot Hand Cream - I got this as a free gift since I spent over £40 and I absolutely love this. I will definitely buy this again as it's the nicest smelling hand cream I've ever used. It's also quite thick but sinks into the skin quick and effortlessly making it a dream to use
  • I then also found a few wee samples at the bottom of my rather full bag. These were; Rehydrating Rose Facial Polish, Rose Facial Oil, Rejuvenating Frankincense Refining Cleanser and the Frankincense Intense Cream

I can't wait to try out these new beauties as all the samples I've tried so far I've absolutely loved and best of all, so has my skin!

If you are interested in having a look at these products and learning more you can click here and see my sister's brochure and details.

Anyone else given Neal's Yard a go?

A Primer From The Men's Skincare Section!?

Yes you read that right...I have recently discovered a product made for men which works amazingly as a primer.

Recently my friend brought an article to my attention which mentioned that Nivea Men Post Shave Balm could also be used as a primer. I was slightly doubtful but nevertheless I am always up for trying something new and especially if it can saves a few pounds.

I immediately put this to the test and wore it under my make-up for work. This means it had the job of keeping my make-up in place from 7:45am til around 6pm with the electric heater at work making the make-up want to melt away. On first application I noticed that the texture was rather thin and sticky. There was also a slight "man" smell which I didn't actually mind...but maybe I've just been single too long...anyway! First day of using it I returned home to see that my make-up was in the exact same place as it was when I left, I mean really! It worked SO well! The other thing I like about it is that it doesn't make your skin 'matte' or 'luminous' or any other affects so it really gives the most skin-like appearance.

A couple of days after I started trying this I then saw Kylie Jenner snapchat about using this product also so I know it'll now be out of stock everywhere so thank goodness I managed to get mine before she told the world!

If you're lucky enough to see this in store then pick it up quick. It's around £5 for 100ml and you only need to use the smallest amount,,,this tub will last me literally years!!

Empties #11

It's been a couple of months since my last empties post and my can you tell! My box of used products is the most full it's ever been so to save some time I will link below other posts for the products which have been around these parts before and will give more detail of the products which are new to me.

Starting with what I've used before...

  • Garnier Body Intensive Ultra-Replenishing Lotion - here
  • Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Dry Shampoo (there was actually two of these!) - here
  • The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil - here
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum - here
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil - here
  • Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Primer - here
  • Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil - here
  • Re-Gen Cream - here
  • No7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner - here
  • Soap & Glory Flake Away Exfolliator - here

And now for the new products...

  • Bumble & Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish - I really liked this product. It added texture and volume to my hair without leaving a greasy residue or weighing it down
  • Bumble & Bumble Thickening Hairspray - again I loved this. I put it through my hair while wet and dried as normal to find it helped thicken my hair without making it feel like there was a lot of product in it
  • Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask - I really enjoyed using this. It was the first face mask I've used which heats up and the first time I used it I did panic slightly by the warmth but once I was used to it I really enjoyed using this. I also enjoy how quick it is to use. Many face masks have to stay on for 10mins or so but after just 5 this has worked its magic
  • Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant - I really like this product, who doesn't!? It's been the best product for dry lips I've used but recently I found a great dupe with a smaller price tag (you can read that product here)
  • Soap & Glory Orangeasm Body Wash - this bad boy has lasted me ages! And smells incredible...soap & glory can do no wrong with the toiletries
  • Garnier Moisutre Radiance Dairy Energising Gel Moisturiser - another win for the new products. I really like the cooling effect of this moisturiser and the fact it was a gel. It really helped to waken my skin up first thing in the morning and soaked in beautifully
  • The Body Shop Body Butter in 'Coconut' and 'Shea Butter' - these smell amazing, melt into the skin effortlessly and leave skin smooth as ever! I love them!
  • Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Concealer - I used this years ago and after seeing it on youtube so much I just had to buy it again and it was every bit of great as I remember. I'm not a massive fan of the applicator at the end but it does the job (not in the most hygienic way) but the product itself is great at brightening up the under eye without creasing at all throughout the day
Yeah...I did warn you there was a lot of empties! So well done for making it to the end. Let me know if you've also used up any of these products and what you thought of them.

  • Sunglasses - New Look
  • Dalmatian Print Blouse - H & M
