Ballerina Eyes

After doing a recent post on my favourite eye products to use alone- you can find the post here- it got me using my Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow in 'Nude Swings' a lot more again. This then reminded me of an eye look I did back in April for my dad's surprise birthday party. I'd totally forgotten about this look and absolutely love how girly and delicate it seems- just like a ballerina...hense the post title!

On my lips is the No7 product blogged about here

This is such an simple and effective eye look which can be achieved in 3 simple steps;
  1. Blend the Benefit shadow across the whole eye lid
  2. Apply Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in '30 Gorgeous Berries'- blog post here- on the outer half of the lid and through the crease
  3. Blend together and outwards to create soft lines
So...3 steps, 2 products and 1 beautiful eye look...sorted!

No7 Shine & Tint

If you want a pout that packs a punch then this is the lip product for you. The No7 Shine & Tint is a gloss that means business. Apply this is the morning and you'll be struggling to remove it at the end of the day.

This is seriously long lasting and stays put throughout food and drink. There's obviously slight fading on the fuller part of the lips at the end of a meal but it's not that noticeable. This is definitely the longest lasting product I've experienced in a long time which is surprising considering how comfortable and non-drying it is on the lips. It feels slightly sticky on the lips to begin with due to a beautiful glossy shine which also sticks around all day so it's worth it

I have the shade 'Seduce' which a a brunettes perfect hot pink shade. They are available from Boots for £8.50 and there's 5 shades to choose from.

Lazy Day Make-Up and Outfit

We all have those days where we are just in a bit of a lazy mood and therefore the thought of doing a full make-up routine and outfit styling makes us want to hide under the duvet and stay in bed all day. But, on days where I feel like this and I still have errands to run I keep things basic and go on the bare minimum.

I keep my make-up to light and fresh on my skin and use only enough to make me look awake/human.
The products I use are (in order of application);
  • No7 Stay Perfect Primer
  • Benefit Big Easy BB Cream- blog post here
  • Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser
  • Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
  • Benefit Busher in 'Dandelion'
  • L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper
  • Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof
  • Mac Eye Kohl in 'Teddy'
  • Revlon Lip Butter in '035 Candy Apple'

When it comes to a lazy day outfit then I'm definitely a jeans and t-shirt/vest top kind of girl. The comfier I am the better when I'm running around instead of being on the sofa watching Disney movies. And when it comes to hair it'll either be thrown up in a messy top-knot or just left down wild and free.

My outfit;
  • T-shirt- Primark
  • Jeans- Topshop
  • Shoes- Sainsburys (yeah you read that right!! A supermarket!)

Garnier Intensive 7 Days Nourishing Lotion

I have always moisturised my skin every night and will usually just purchase any moisturiser which is cheap/on offer, which is how I ended up trying out the Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Nourishing Lotion- ridiculously long name!

It literally just took one application for me to fall in love with this and I've used nothing else since. What I love the most is how fast this soaks into the skin and gives instant softness. You can just tell it's doing wonders for your skin! It has quite a thin texture which allows it to spread more evenly and disappear within seconds. The original bottle that I tried was the peach one and I loved it but when I went to repurchase it was sold out so I settled with the mango one which is just as good but I prefer the scent of the peach.

It may not be the cheapest on the shelf but a little goes a long way and it 100% works so is definitely worth spending a couple more pennies. I've enjoyed using this throughout summer as it's been so light and nourishing but I look forward to using it throughout winter as well as it'll be great at keeping dry skin at bay.

One Product Eye Looks

The Benefit shades used are the second and forth shade going L-R

When it comes to wearing eyeshadow I'm an quick and easy type girl.On a day-to-day business I am not one for all the different shades and layers of eye shadow so have discovered 4 different eye products which can be quickly applied all over the lid, smudged out and look like I've actually spent more than 10 seconds applying it.

These four products are;

  • No7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define Eye Crayon in 'Cool Mink'- I've gushed about my love of this before! Read all about it here
  • No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow in a shade from cappuccino trio- this is SUCH a beautiful chocolatey metallic brown...I absolutely love this shade!
  • Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow in 'Thanks A Latte'- very similar in shade to the No7 one above but this is more cool toned. Benefit eyeshadows are such lovely formulas that are so creamy and very pigmented
  • Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow in 'Nude Swings'- a more subtle look to the above, this is a gorgeous pinky shimmery shade which wakes up the face and gives a brightening appearance
All of these shades are beautiful on their own and are very easy formulas to work with. No matter how much of a rush you are in in the morning these products make a smokey eye look possible in just seconds.

Maybelline Master Sculpt Contour Palette

I realise it hasn't been a long time since I was ranting and raving about another contour palette (post here) but after reading a lot of good reviews on the new addition to the Maybelline line up I just couldn't resist trying it out.

As you can see the palette includes a bronzing powder and a highlighter. The highlighter I'm not too excited about as I don't use powder highlighters a lot so will admit that I've not played around with it too much. What I can say is that is does look quite pretty but is guilty of having rather large gold specs of glitter in it which gives a slight vampire in the sunshine (twilight style) appearance.

Highlighter aside though, I LOVE this. The bronzer is non-muddy, non-orange and non-shimmery....a.k.a the perfect contour formula! It is beautifully pigmented so it's easy not to go over the top yet you don't have to stand there for ages and apply lots just to get a slight shadow affect.

I have the shade '01 Light/Medium' and I think it's the perfect shade for me. I have been using this instead of my Bourjois Chocolate bronzing powder purely on the pigmentation front. It also sticks around all day too without sliding down the face- which is never a good look! If I was being made to think of a negative I would say that the packaging is quite bulky, due to a compartment underneath which has a brush and mirror so is handy for those who use that but personally I never do so would be happy without it.

If anyone thinks they have an equally good contour powder then please let me know! Apparently I'm having a moment with them!

St. Tropez Gradual In Shower Tan

I am a complete beginner when it comes to self tan so will be the first to admit they scare me. From patchy skin to an orange 'tango'd' appearance there are many things which concern me about using them. This means I usually embrace my pale Scottish skin- as I do think that all skin colours are beautiful!- but having been the only person I know who hasn't gone on holiday this summer I felt a bit left out, so thought I would bring the holiday to me...or at least to my skin.

Since I have no idea where to start when it comes to tanning, I was relieved to see this new product by St. Tropez- which I know is a very trusted brand in the tanning world. An in shower gradual tan which you rub on, leave for 3 minutes then wash off and continue your shower/day as normal. And it really is that simple! The hardest bit is working out a way to time 3 minutes while in the bathroom- my technique is to take my phone in and dry the end of a finger on a towel so I can time it properly

The first day I used it I noticed absolutely no difference...but stuck with it and the next morning added another layer. Again, it wasn't instant when I got out the shower but throughout the day it did develop and give a nice, yet subtle, sun kissed glow to the skin. For me, this was enough as I'm not one for the 'tantastic' look but I'm sure you could layer it even more for a deeper colour.

All in all, this is a great product for newbies to the tanning world and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for that slight hint of colour or if you already have a tan and want to keep the appearance of it for longer. You can find this from Boots for £14.50 for 200ml. I do think this is a bit on the pricey side, especially as you have to use a healthy amount per application so a bottle may not last as long as you hope. Still cheaper than a flight to a sunny destination though!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil

An oil for the face?! That use to be something I never thought I'd use. I have rather oily skin, especially on my forehead, so the thought of adding more oil just seems ridiculous! However, after hearing The Beauty Crush talk about how much her skin loved it when she introduced an oil to her skincare routine I just had to try one too. I'm a big fan of the Vitamin E range in The Body Shop so when I saw that it included an overnight oil I thought I would try it out.

I'm now in my second bottle of the stuff and absolutely love it. I can't imagine not using an oil in my skincare routine now and use it without fail every night. It's done nothing but wonders for my skin. I never wake up with the tight-dry feeling and find my skin just seems so much more nourished. I also found that the oil hasn't made my skin any oilier and if anything may have reduced the amount of oil produced. It soaks into the skin really quickly so doesn't make your face feel greasy at all. The condition of my skin recently has improved a lot and I think I have to thank this for helping in that.

This costs £15 for 28ml but a little really goes a long way meaning the bottle last quite a long time so I think it's definitely worth it.
